Fuck You Bill!
‘Fuck You Bill!’ is an artist book created whilst reading and researching the books and life of William S. Burroughs. The pages were printed and then worked on with acrylic, inks and pencils and then bound as a hardback.
Illascapes
Working with renowned wildlife and landscape photographer Sam Ryley, we collaborated on the ‘Illascapes’ project in which I took Sam’s photographs and created new abstract worlds, characters and imagined scenarios. An exhibition of the work was shown at the Art of Tea in Manchester (UK).
Satirical Illustration
A series of satirical illustrations depicting current and past political and economical stories.
A Different Forgetting
This body of work was inspired by my Grandmothers long battle with Alzheimer’s. I focussed on the erasure of memories, working with personal stories from people who had relatives with the disease, and drawing inspiration for design and mark making from the scientific drawings of senile plaque and neurofibrillary tangles (causes of the memory loss). An exhibition of the work was exhibited at the Art of Tea in Manchester (UK).
Contested Territories
As part of the MA Illustration I studied the communication values of illustration, breaking down images into code and creating information through symbols and iconography. These illustrations were exhibited alongside other MA students from varying disciplines at the Manchester School of Art.
Random Illustrations
A selection of illustrations and designs that I’ve done over the years as part of competitions, gigs, publications and any other favours that people have asked.
TV Head and StarBoy
These are stories created about anti-heroes and things not always being what they seem. Heavily interested in text as image in creating the visual language.
The Neverending Fight to be the Master of the Balloon People
Really long title for quite a short video - collaboration with filmmaker Cara Hayes.
Publications with Independent Publishers
A collection of work with independent publishers in the North West (Chimp Magazine, RANT Magazine and Papercut Magazine).
